130 Folk/Traditional Song
May be accompanied or unaccompanied. A folk song is one in which the music and text have been handed down by tradition. Some verses may need to be omitted.
Time limit: 3 minutes.
132 Classical Song
Baroque, Classical or Romantic song music composed 1600 to 1900.
Time limit: 4 minutes
134 Sacred Solo/Spiritual/Gospel Song
Must have a biblical reference.
Time limit: 4 minutes.
136 Vocal Solo - Own Selection
Time limit: 4 minutes.
138 Song in Costume
Action permitted. The costume must be appropriate for the song.
Time limit: 4 minutes.
140 Song from Light Opera/Musical in Costume
Please indicate title of Light Opera/Musical with entry.
Time limit: 4 minutes.
142 German Lieder
Lieder is defined as a song by one of the following composers: Schubert, Schumann, Mendelssohn, Wolf, R Strauss, Brahms or Mahler. To be sung in German.
Time limit: 4 minutes.
145 Novice Solo
Competitors placing 1st in a Vocal class within the last 5 years are not eligible to enter.
Time limit: 4 minutes.

We will not be holding a Vocal nomination at our 2024 competitions.
The next Vocal nomination class will be held in 2025 for the 2026 PACANZ NYPA finals.
Each performer will perform 3 items:
