Modern Jazz & Tap Dance - Catriona White

Catriona began dancing at an early age, training primarily in tap under Gill Clout (Gisborne) and achieving Advanced Honours BBO. She also studied jazz and ballet, competing throughout the North Island and winning championships.

She started teaching as a teenager and after training as a primary school teacher and raising a family, returned to teach tap, jazz, ballet and general dance. Over 15 years, she prepared students to National level, with many achieving championships and scholarships. She also organised tap and jazz competitions.

Catriona began adjudicating in 2024 to give back to the dance community. She now judges tap and jazz and is known for her detailed, constructive feedback, strong time management, clear communication, effective organisation, engaging music choices for impromptus and friendly, professional approach.
